Field Trip

The ElectronicTechnology class participated in an outing in April 1995 to the American Power Company, the worlds largest producer of uninterrupted power supplies. They had opportunities to see what exactly the different job opportunities were, as well as witness surge converters in operation. John Coulombe, a new student, felt that the trip was informative and was extremely impressed by the clean environment and friendly staff. He was also impressed to see the application of equipment and how it applies to what he was learning in class.

Basic Electronics has given Joseph King, a second semester student, the opportunity to do more than partake in field trips. It has given him the a chance to meet many friends within the last year. He also finds his teacher to be helpful and the education to be very good.

Fund Raiser

Mr. Gent's Electronic Technology Class has been going from class to class before lunch selling "World's Finest" chocolate bars. The chocolate is being sold to raise money for electronic equipment and parts needed by the students. Although the students had hoped bring in about a twelve hundred dollars from this fund raiser, they raised $600.00. They have purchased microchips, harddrive controllers, and a harddrive for the class.

Success

John Coulombe finds working for Sony to be the finest job he has ever had. He is

most impressed by the company's attitude towards its employees. John states that,

"As large as they are they care about each and every employee." The best

indication of this according to John is would be the benefit package and training

for the customer service representative.

Jim Helms, Human Resource Specialist at Sony Electronics, Inc. is quoted as

saying,"High Tech North was essential to our successful opening of a national

telephone assist service center. Their cooperation in providing classroom space

and facilities made the early successful development of the business possible. We

have selected several High Tech North graduates as our employees and are

delighted with their progress."
