Samhain

Samhain is a time for rest and reflection. In traditional European agricultural societies, this was the time when the final harvest had been brought in. Summer had ended, and Winter was coming. The fertility of the earth was gone, and the land seemed to have fallen into a state akin to "death", until the "rebirth" of the Spring. Because of this, thoughts turned to loved ones who had died and of the family or tribe's ancestors. And so, we are devoting this service to remembering our UU ancestors, those loved ones of our church family that have passed away. By remembering them, though they may be gone, they still live on in our hearts and minds.
Please join us for this "Remembrance Sunday."
