This brief report indicates that over half of local governments in the US are not aware that they have a y2k problem.

The results of a survey of local government technology issues found that nearly 55 percent of responding cities believe that the year 2000 computer problem will not affect their local government's computers. The survey, conducted by the International City/County Management Association and Public Technology Inc. and released last week, was mailed to nearly 7,400 U.S. cities with populations over 2,500. Approximately 3,600 cities responded.
