I received the following e-mail from a pastor:
"It would be nice to know who you are and what credentials you to write about this material. It is impossible to assess your material and consider prejudices and agendas without it."
My response: it isn't impossible. It's just his particular hang-up: credentials mania. In this man's worldview, truth is dependent on credentials. I ask: issued by whom?
Y2K Denial comes in many forms. This one is my favorite. In the competition for life-saving resources in the year 2000, credentials maniacs will not survive. To this extent, I'm a Darwninian. Of course, I don't think that credentials mania is an inherited characteristic.
