DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE: TOO LATE
What we need to hear today is that the 358 million lines of code are now repaired. The tests are over. The system is compliant. This is not what we are being told. This "good news" report indicates that as of mid-1996, the Department of Defense was still in the assessment stage. My assessment: the DoD won't make it. I suggest that you make your plans on this assumption: the U.S. Defense Department and the West's defense systems will be in chaos in the year 2000, and for years thereafter.
