The inventor of an as-yet unreleased software solution to one part of a PC's 2000 problem says the press blew his story way out of proportion. The story appeared in the New Zealand BUSINESS HERALD (Sept. 18).

"They’ve been too excited to listen that it’s not a solution to the whole year 2000 problem", he said.
Nicholas says his program, designed to run when a computer starts up, will diagnose whether the computer’s BIOS (basic input output system) will handle the switch from December 31, 1999 to January 1, 2000.
