More than a third of telecommunications managers surveyed do not believe that the arrival of the year 2000 will have a major affect on their networks and businesses, according to a survey of British organizations published Monday.
Telecom managers have received far less information than IT managers about the year 2000 problem from their suppliers, said the survey, which was released here at the TMA 97 conference, organized by the Telecommunications Managers' Association. . . .
Telecom managers are failing to ask questions about the impact of the millennium on their telecom systems and could find themselves unprepared for the havoc the year 2000 glitch could cause, according to the survey, which was commissioned by telecom equipment maker Mitel. . . .
