Communications networks keep corporations held together. What if these networks don't survive 2000? What happens to corporate communications?

Will routers, bridges, firewalls, etc., really go from 1999 to 1900 and crash the network? "The chances are very good that they will," says Art Dolimpio, director of program management for Bell Atlantic Network Integration (BANI), the systems integration arm of Bell Atlantic. "Cisco or Bay routers have a lot of capabilities that are time-related. You can have configuration changes based on time of day. There are security relationships and access that are time-based. One can be relatively certain that these things will be affected."
