Andrew's house in Adelaide

I don't know what we're running on for energy!  That was a LONG trip!

I liked the Air New Zealand plane. They showed several movies and some info shows to keep us from being bored! They kept waking us up to feed us or offer wine etc.  It seemed Andrew was right about the video screen with the globe. We could trace our route, speed, outside temperature, distances and time left-to-go. A little mini passenger SCADA system that had real time data.  Toward the end you didn't want to look any more!  When we stepped off in Sydney it was a gorgeous sunny day. The breeze was so cool and crisp and fresh!! We went through customs there and they confiscated my gallon zip lock of pecans I was bringing to the Roberts!!

Oh well, I tried. Now they will have the recipes and no nuts!! We then walked over to the domestic check in and rechecked our bags. At that point we had to catch a shuttle that drove us over to the domestic terminal... then to our gate. It was a lovely airport. The flight to Adelaide was another two hours or so. I had told Andrew 11:00 a.m. but really hadn't named Ansett Airlines... there were a couple choices for him so he'd checked the international side and the domestic side... We were standing waiting for our bags as he walked up. What a sight for a Mama's (Mums) eyes!!!  Andrew looks great!!  We got a taxi and headed for 19 King Street... wasn't really very far. I was so surprised from the air. I guess I didn't expect so much green.  It's just lovely. Trees are very similar to South Florida. The flowers and gardens in all the yards are beautiful. It feels very European to me.  Andrew's neighborhood has a lot of old Greek families in it he tells us.

The houses on Andrew's street are over 100 years old. We went down in the wine cellar little while ago... The entrance to the wine cellar was hidden in the kitchen cabinets. They fold out of the way.. I'd have never found it! Kylie was here when we got here. She had just cut some fresh flowers from the back yard to bring in. We got a tour of the house and our rooms. (Andrew has two rooms) The yard is in bloom. We met the year old pup and the three chickens in the back yard. There is an ancient, huge grape vine and arbor in the back.. also an avocado tree. It's only produced three fruits to date however. The lemon tree is full. I found the yard so inviting that I sat down on the sidewalk in the sun...wasn't long before me eyes got heavy and I snuck a little nap. Rus was working on getting the connection for the computer and I thought he was busy. I've found a picture though so he obviously caught me goofing off. Andrew took us for a walking tour of the neighborhood and we had lunch in a neat Greek cafe. We did a grocery run and stopped in the post office. Andrew really is in a pretty convenient location.

We walked to the university this evening and had dinner in a restaurant called Jerusalem. Was very good and new for Rus and I! We just let Andrew order. Was an interesting walk over. We walked through a park area and really noticed the birds chirping. We spotted a tree full of colorful parrots. Learned the first lesson. GO NO WHERE without the camera!! In one tree I was trying to figure out the kind of flowers and it turned out to be parrots again.. They are so full of so many colors! We've been filling our social calendar and have our days here filled.  If it's any sign of things to come time will fly!! I think we're all headed for some shut-eye... till tomorrow! Jane
