Woodhaven Finn MacCool, CD CGC TDI |
Dearest Finn,
Time has gone by so quickly. It seems like
only yesterday you were a little pup snuggling in my lap and here
you are today 2 years old, still doing the same only 70 lbs.
bigger! I cannot even begin to tell you how very much you mean to
me. Or can I find the words to express how much joy & fun you
have put in my life.
You grew up to be my 'velcro dog' always
happiest when you can be with me and touching. I think your main
goal in life is to make me laugh. Also to let me know that you
can talk more than I can and you will always have the last word!
You've
made me so proud of you and given me so many good memories. Like
when you were 10 months old and finished your CD title in 3
straight tries. I can't possibly forget you doing the whole off
lead heeling pattern while you held onto the edge of my shirt so
I'd stay in the proper heel position!
Or how can I not remember your first leg towards your CDX title
when on the heel you didn't feel I was moving fast enough,
dropped behind me, jumped up giving me two shoves with your paws
and then resumed heeling just like you'd never done it. I doubt
the Judge will ever forget that helpful trick even though she
still gave you a 190 1/2 when she got done laughing. I'm sorry sweetie, Mom will always try to
remember to move a little faster from now on!
You make me laugh when you bring the dumbbell and grin at me. I
love watching you 'find' the right article which you do with such
ease & I like watching you think.
Last week when
we were at school practicing in the ring and I put the jump bar
in the middle of the floor so that when I called you for the
'drop on recall' you would know exactly where to lay down when I
gave you the signal..... you dropped down so nicely. Without a
doubt darlin' you were thinking of my tired old back when you
finished the recall bringing me the jump bar. I know you didn't
want me to have to pick it up! You are such a considerate guy
& so good to your Mom!
My biggest wish for your birthday Finn is that everyday of the rest of your long life is as happy & healthy as the last two years have been. May your days be filled with hugs, cuddles, big kisses and good times. And may you never run out of little tricks to keep us all laughing!
Your Mom who adores you......!
