For thirty three consecutive years, the sailors of Southwest Florida have gathered to celebrate the end of summer by participating in this area's premier sailing event called the Summerset Regatta. In 1998, hundreds of sailors from Clearwater Beach to Marco Island participated on sixty boats in seven classes. The variety of point to point destinations and a triangle course off the Naples Pier inspired the competition among sailors representing seven different sailing clubs. CMCS traditionally contributes a portion of the proceeds to local youth groups. Labor Day weekend is full of events for the entire family; inluding racing, social, and happy hour events, and the awards dinner. Each vessel entered is eligible for door prizes.
