The FLS committee has as its purpose to provide a first rate leadership school with the best blend of the spiritual and the practical offering participants opportunities and challenges to seek their leadership style while practicing the UU principles.

THE LODESTONE STEWARDSHIP PATH THAT TRANSFORMS ONE'S LEADERS AND HEIGHTENS THE LEVEL OF PRACTICE AND ABILITY TO SUPPORT OUR LOCAL UU MOVEMENT.

May we suggest the following step towards a successful representation at FLS:

DECISION: The congregational board gathers information about the benefits and advantages of in-depth quality training of UU lay leaders.
FUNDING: An approved budget line item to support selected leaders to attend. An on-going, approved fundraiser, the 'Quarter Jar', to collect quarters on Sunday in honor of leadership…call it "The Power of Change"! A FLS Banner Sunday service held in March 2000 creating the congregational awareness and commitment to send representatives.
SELECTION: By May 1, leaders have been selected to attend and registrations complete by June 30. If scholarship funding is needed, complete the fund request.
PREPARATION: The committee and the district office are able to respond to any aspect of the congregation's inquiries about FLS.
