March 2003
Dear Friends,
I am on sabbatical now, so please contact Jessica in the office
if you need anything. Her email is uuafldistoffice@aol.com.
I will not be answering my e-mail while on sabbatical, so please
re-program your systems to contact Jessica with questions and comments.
The District Annual Assembly brochures are in your churches now.
The topic for this exciting Assembly is "The Means and the
Meaning." The Rev. Terry Sweetser will talk about saying, "Yes!"
to Life and finding the means to have the life you want in the community
you choose. We hope to see you all at the Assembly April 23-25 at
Canterbury Retreat Center.
The Presidents' Forum at the University UU Society in Orlando will
be May 16-17. The Presidents have been writing declaring the topics
you want. There is still time for input, so please get the new and
the old Presidents together and share the wisdom; learn together
and develop a network of lay leaders who can support you as your
congregations move forward.
Our Clusters are gathering and again offering wonderful programs.
Please check out these events that are close to home and so helpful.
The Living Tradition Council has the Speaker Database online now.
Follow this link to see how to access
it.
The results of the every member survey from the Growth and Extension
Council are included. Check it out! There is so much interesting
and useful information there. How does your congregation sort out?
You can begin to gather your leaders for our OWL Training. WE are
in final negotiations with the trainers for either June 7-8 or June
14-15 in Weston. We will send you the most current information as
soon as it is finalized.
There is more in this packet than I can cover in this letter. We
are indeed lucky to have this level of talent and treasure in our
District. Do not let this chance to connect and learn pass you by!
See you in July.
In Faith,
Rev. Mary Chulak Higgins
