    From the inception of our Web site in June 1995, our concept has been to provide a non-commercial environment for our educational and informative material about Pine Island and its neighborhoods. The Business Directory has provided the basics needed for viewers to contact any of the outfitters or providers of goods or services, by street location, by telephone, by postal mail or by e-mail. NOW, due to many requests, we will be giving our occupant listers the opportunity of having a direct link to their Websites, as well as to an e-mail link. This will be provide a great convenience for both our viewers and our advertising listers, in terms of speedier and more efficient, to-and-fro communication. Suffice to say that we will continue to maintain an aura of simplicity and dignity in our Website that so many have commented on. Thus, we plan to exercise discretion as to the number and placement of banners, horns, whistles and other cutsies or doohickeys that might tend to deface and defile the ambiance and the serenity of our idyllic neighborhoods. 

Whereas this directory was originally developed only for the benefit of the members of the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce, our database of businesses has been opened widely for several years, to encompass a broader, if not complete, showing of ANY AND ALL "valid" Pine Island servicing businesses, churches, service clubs and non-profit organizations. "Valid" means those with a current Lee County Occupational License (in accordance with Florida Statute 205 and Lee County Ordinance #9524) and, if applicable, those who are also (required to be) in compliance with provisions of Chapter 90-267 (Fictitious Name Act), Laws of Florida, 1990.
