kazuko.jpg (9787 bytes)Hi, my name is Kazuko (Kay) Smith. I was born in Japan and later became a US citizen. I live on a 40-acre farm outside the town of Fort Myers, Florida, with my husband, Walter. We have been raising rabbits and earthworms since 1980. Our primary business is raising rabbits for commercial use.  We try to recycle everything we can and we have built a very successful business from the combination of rabbits and earthworms. We sell rabbits, earthworms, and worm castings as well as potted fruit trees and fresh fruit when in season.

Why Buy K & W's Redworms?

K & W's Redworms are tested and identified by Dr. Sam James, Biology professor, Maharishi University of Management in Iowa. Dr. Sam James, is a world class taxonomist and his test results (Mar'98) indicated that we have Eisenia fetida and Eisenia andrei. We sell only top quality redworms and they will turn your kitchen wastes into a dark, nutrient-rich, odorless humus. Even a small container of redworms will yield rich sweet smelling worm castings for your houseplants and flowerbeds.

K & W's Redworms are commercially raised for:

  • High reproduction rate - Our redworms are prolific breeders and can be raised and sold all year round. You need "fewer worms" to start vermicomposting because commercially bred redworms will multiply rapidly under favorable conditions.

  • Excellent composting worms - Our redworms can tolerate denser bedding conditions, richer composts at higher temperatures and withstand extreme temperatures- both hot and cold. If living conditions are favorable with a readily available food supply, they can convert organic matter into nature's best organic plant food very fast.

  • Great fish bait - Our redworms are very tough and have plenty of action. You can store cupped bait at room temperature. They require no refrigeration and have a long shelf life.
