From Vicki Weeks
President, Key West UU Fellowship

Hi again Mary,

I'm sure you are correct about the up coming discussion regarding our national direction and response. We have already begun that discussion here, and from what I've seen in the televised town hall meetings, around the country. One of our members, Jennifer Mitchell, has suggested that we open our space, possibly for a set time each day/evening, for those who are uncomfortable with being/supporting either extreme end of the peace -war spectrum. She has offered to coordinate that outreach.

There are so many who want justice, but realize that that can't mean indescriminate blanket attacks on innocent civilians either within our country, or in other countries. At the same time, many of these people strongly perceive a futility in simply turning the other cheek, despite having been involved in peace and/or civil rights movements for years (or perhaps in years gone by).
I am hoping by providing a forum, that we will, at the very least, allow those in deep personal conflict about the best direction to connect and realize that they aren't alone. At the best, we may find that this type of connection will result in the development and dissemination of constructive creative options.

Try to make sure that you too, are taking time to heal and recharge.

Fondly,
Vicki
