Mini-Grants Program Since our first big charity event in 1984, the Alliance has raised more than $1,000,000 for local non-profit organizations. In 1986, the LCMSA Foundation was formed. In 1993, our Mini-Grants Program was begun. And in 2002, the LCMSA Foundation established a year-round giving program. (see "Reaching Out"). This ongoing effort, combined with annual fundraisers, help to increase the proceeds for Mini-Grants and other health-related projects. (see Community Needs Fund). In short, with community needs ever-growing, the Alliance continues to evolve to meet those needs - and Mini-Grants is one of our most important. The Mini-Grants Program for local charities is a competitive application process where final selection is done by our Mini-Grants Committee. Awards are based on a set of strict criteria and can range from hundreds of dollars to several thousand dollars. If you are a non-profit organization with health-related needs and whose chapter lies within Lee County, Florida, applications for the Mini-Grants Program can be requested by writing to: LCMSAF, Inc. Major Recipient Program If an LCMSAF Major Recipient charity event is planned for a given year, the Alliance will be requesting applications from local charities who are in need of funds greater than those prescribed in our Mini-Grants Program. For details on any of these programs, contact Cheri O'Mailia. |
